What happens to my skin when I travel?

Depending on where my wanderlust takes me depends on what variety of side effects I will see my skin go through. Although discovering new, exciting places and eating exotic foods can be a great part of the vacation, taking my skin out of its comfort zone can have serious effects on my pores. For example, going from Hot/Humid Miami to the Cold/Dry Colorado Mountains had serious side effects on my skin; Chapped lips, Acne breakout and super ashy dry legs and arms to name a few. but more than that, the low humidity of the plane air made my skin look dull and tired, that in combination with less sleep and the alcohol that often accompanies trips gave me what looks like dark circles under my eyes. In other words, my skin may need a vacation from my vacation. If you can relate with my traveling skin experiences than here are a few tips and tricks that I often use to bring my skin back to good health and hope they can help you too.

How to make your skin healthy, post-vacation?

The most important thing is to get back to your healthy habits, catching up on your sleep, eating whole foods and veggies, going back to your regular exercising routine and of course drinking lots of water. Once the inside work has been started, I mix it up by adding a few specific products to my daily skin care regimen, and of course, having a few professional treatments done.

Products:

  • Acne Cream, Acne Gel or Intensive retinol treatment: spot treatments for acne breakouts.
  • Hyaluronic Acid Booting Treatment: Plump and firm skin through increased hydration with an advanced hyaluronic acid formulation. Provide deep, long-lasting hydration on three levels: on the surface, deeper in the skin and by increasing the skin’s own hyaluronic acid production.
  • Revitalizing Eye Gel:  Treat dark circles, puffiness, wrinkles, and sagging eyelids.
