How does Laser Hair Removal work?
The laser emits an invisible beam of light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. The laser is pulsed for only a fraction of a second to effectively zap the hair follicle, meanwhile the patented skin-cooling hand piece minimizes any discomfort.

Is Laser Hair Removal painful?
Compared to waxing, laser hair removal is practically pain-free. Patients might feel a split-second micro-pinch, if anything at all.

What are the possible side effects of Laser Hair Removal?
The most common side effect, if anything at all, is slight reddening of the skin, similar to a sunburn. In very rare instances, slight blistering may occur. With DermaLaser’s experienced laser technicians, however, no client has yet reported any signs of blistering.

Is there any downtime with Laser Hair Removal?
Zero. You could come in during lunch and go straight back to work.

What areas can be treated with Laser Hair Removal?
Anywhere—even more sensitive areas like the nipples, genitals, pubic area, face, and neck.

How does Laser Hair Removal compare with other hair removal methods?
Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are all temporary methods that must be repeated on a frequent basis. Laser hair removal can deliver the most permanent and effective results, and can even treat pesky ingrown hairs that all the other methods cannot.

Why choose DermaLaser over any other facility?
Besides hiring only the most experienced laser technicians, DermaLaser prides itself on using the latest and safest laser technology in the industry. By doing so, we can assure the most efficient and effective laser hair removal procedures with the least discomfort. Plus, the new technology is highly adjustable to tailor specific client needs—bringing results in hair removal from the fine hairs on a woman’s upper lip just as easily as the coarse hair on a man’s back.

How many Laser Hair Removal treatments will I need?
The industry standard is 6 sessions.
However, as little as 3 sessions or as many as +8 sessions may be needed due to a multitude of different factors ranging from hair thickness, density, area, and growth cycle.

Laser hair removal works by disabling the hair that is currently in the active growth cycle.
Interestingly, not all hairs are actively growing at the same time—hairs go through three different cycles: growth, regressions, and resting. That said, additional treatments may be necessary to disable the hair follicles that weren’t actively growing during previous sessions.

Visiting DermaLaser for a free consultation is the best way to calculate the number of sessions you may specifically need.
